Meet the Creator

Everyone Can Create

Hi, I'm Emily. Welcome to the MusiBop Creative Music Lab!

From film-scoring composer to music educator, I came to see that traditional music learning puts so much weight on flawless, error-free technique that many people gradually lose the courage to express themselves through music.

To break out of the "one right answer" mindset, I created MusiBop.

MusiBop draws on the improvisational spirit of jazz Bebop — "Bop" is a rhythm full of energy and the sound of inspiration colliding. That's the idea we want to share: be bold in music, let your creativity go "Bop!", and blossom into a flower all your own.

Play first. Then create.

FAQs

Can I buy MusiBop from overseas?

Yes! Overseas customers can order directly through our website. Shipping rates and delivery times vary by destination and are shown at checkout. If your location is not yet available, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help arrange your order.

Is MusiBop suitable for beginners?

MusiBop is designed for learners of all levels.
Beginners can build a strong foundation in listening, rhythm, and creative music-making, while more experienced learners can explore melody, harmony, musical form, and beyond to create richer improvisations, compositions, and fresh musical ideas.

What age range is MusiBop suitable for?

MusiBop is recommended for ages 4 and up. With flexible activities and guidance, preschoolers, children, and teens can all find ways to play that suit them. Teachers and parents can adjust the level and approach to match each child’s ability.

Can MusiBop be used with instruments other than piano?

Absolutely. MusiBop isn’t limited to piano. Using musical elements such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and musical form, it supports improvisation and composition with any instrument—from violin and guitar to percussion, voice, and everyday sounds.

I don’t have a music background. Can I still play with my child?

MusiBop is currently designed primarily for music educators and works especially well in music studios, group classes, and school programmes. Parents without a music background can start with the 1–2 star activities and explore alongside their child. To make the most of the full deck, we recommend using the included lesson ideas and demonstration videos, or following a teacher’s guidance. We’re also developing a version designed for families to enjoy together—stay tuned.

I already use other music teaching materials. Do I need Musibop?

MusiBop is designed to complement—not replace—your existing materials. It adds opportunities for improvisation, composition, and creative thinking that traditional lessons may not always cover, making learning richer and more engaging.

How long does a MusiBop activity take?

It’s completely flexible. Draw a few cards for a 5–10 minute warm-up or icebreaker, or combine them with worksheets and digital resources for a full 30–45 minute creative lesson.

Is MusiBop grounded in teaching practice?

Yes. MusiBop draws on the founder’s experience in music creation, cross-disciplinary design, and hands-on teaching. Before its official release, nearly 30 music teachers took part in hands-on trials, and
their feedback helped refine the content and ways of play. Every card is carefully designed to guide children from listening to exploring to creating—not simply offer random prompts.

Will MusiBop teach my child how to play an instrument?

MusiBop is not a technique or music-theory method; it is a creative music-making tool. It helps children turn the musical knowledge they have already learned into the ability to improvise, compose, and express themselves—so music can become a language of their own.
